    am making this right now:

THE VERY BEST CHICKEN FAJITAS EVER

    MARINADE:

    1 clove mince garlic
    1 1/2 tsp. season salt
    1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
    1 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. lime juice (fresh is best)
    1 1/2 lbs. sliced chicken

Combine all ingredients. Marinate chicken strips for at least 2 hours.

    FAJITA:

    3-4 tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 c. sliced onion
    1/2 c. chopped green onion
1 c. sliced red bell pepper
    8 warmed lg. flour tortillas
    1 sliced avocado
    Salsa
    Sour cream
    Shredded Cheddar cheese

Quickly saute onions and peppers in oil until lightly browned; remove from pan. Saute meat until well coated with glaze, about 10 minutes. Toss in the vegetables and reheat. Spoon into flour tortillas with avocado, salsa, sour cream and cheese. Can add other condiments if you want. Serves 4-6.

    minus the avocado.
    don't have.

    Puliyogare

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Jump to: navigation, search

    traditional puliyogare

Puliyogare(Kannada: ಪುಳಿಯೋಗರೆ) is a South Indian rice preparation usually eaten as a snack. Puli means sour taste and Ogara means rice in Halegannada, thus Puliyogare translates as sour tasting rice. Puliyogare is also known as Huli anna or Tamarind Rice in some parts of Karnataka.
It is traditionally made using steamed or boiled rice mixed with tamarind juice, groundnuts or peanuts, coriander, coconut, red chilli, curry leaves, jaggery, pepper, mustard, fenugreek, turmeric, asafoetida, urad dal, and cumin. It is also prepared during festivals such as Diwali.
Puliyogare is particularly known to be a specialty of the Iyengar community, and some of the best puliyogare can be found in South Indian Sri Vaishnava temples, associated with the Iyengar community.
