Default Let me ask your guy's honest opinion on something.

How much drinking do you think is too much? I've had family members give me shit about my drinking lately but I think they are just being stiff asses. And what the fuck difference does it make if I drink by myself? I mean shit, what is wrong with people? So the fuck what if I like to feel good every once in a while.

I wish people would just leave me alone.

If you are not around them just lie to them and tell them you quit. Always worked for me.

I think you have been drinking too much.
And not in a celebratory way.
    It worries me.
    JMHO.

At the end of the day the only person who can decide what defines too much for you is you. A few things to consider when making this judgement: is drinking a planned part of your day? (like you start thinking about how much of what kind of whatever you are going to have as you would plan a meal) Do you consistently think to yourself why you are drinking at any given time? (such as "i always have beers when theres an mma event" or "im so pissed about how bad my dad was I deserve to knock back a few" or today could only get better if i chug some beers etc)

Im dealing with a drinking problem one day at a time right now bas. No offense, but you sometimes sound a lot like I have in the past, trying to excuse my habits as personal choice. If it was truly a personal choice I would have never put my affinity for booze ahead of those that care about me on my proirity list. Being upset at someone showing concern is maybe your way of protecting alcohol. There have been a few times in my life, when forced to evaluate things by a love one, I became extremely panicked by the thought of never being able to enjoy alcohol again. My body likes it too much, and I dont stop once I start. Place the fear of losing booze next to losing the concerned family member. If they are about equal, id say you have a problem. Just so you know, its ok to have a problem. Its also ok to have a problem and not be ready to address it. Just dont wait until something drastic or tragic happens to figure it out.

    yeah thats probably too much

your body isnt designed for such a thing, and you're inviting depression, sickness, all sorts of shit in the window. It really is just a matter of WHEN, not IF.

Your original post doesnt sound like you see anything wrong with what you're doing though, and the only one who can convince Bas is Bas

Well, my opening post was made last night shortly after someone came downstairs and saw me sitting on the couch with a big triumphant (perhaps not) pile of empties in front of me. They confronted me about it and I got super upset and defensive. Right now I'm thinking a bit more clearly about it and realizing that for a while being drunk (and being hungover) has become part of my daily routine, that shit can't be healthy.

I think I will take it easy on the drink for a while. Hopefully I don't get stupid and change my mind.
