Default Dana White reveals the real reason why they signed Mark Hunt

UFC President, Dana White has explained that the only reason the promotion signed former PRIDE fighter, Mark Hunt is because they were contractually obligated to do so when they bought the Japanese promotion back in 2007.

Posting today via his Twitter page, Dana explained:

“Part of the pride deal we contractually owe him fights from our purchase of the company.”

It was revealed yesterday much to the dismay of fans around the world that the fighter had been signed to a four fight deal with the Las Vegas based promotion and would be in action at UFC 119 where he’d take on Sean McCorkle. The fighter is currently riding a five fight losing streak which I’m sure he’s hoping to turn around or he’ll face the exit door.

I don't think they contractually owe him fights. If they did why not have him fight back when Pride went to the bone pile and he was still competitive?
